CLINIC COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

Attention:
Registered Clinic Patients
Even with COVID19, our commitment to providing you with safe access to medical care is unwavered. The clinic has put in place enhanced safety measures and is now offering “in-person” or “telehealth” medical appointments to currently registered clinic patients as permitted by the volunteer licensed medical provider’s availability.
Although clinic hours remain the same, clinic doors will remain locked at all times in order to regulate the number of people entering the premises.
ALL patients are asked to CALL the clinic at (954) 563-9876 for any questions they may have or appointments they may need.
For ALL Telehealth visits – we ask that you please be ready for the medical provider to call you at the designated appointment time and that you have a private place to speak with the provider without interruptions from family, TV, pets etc.
Please have your medications available for the consult along with name & number of your pharmacy. If you have a blood pressure monitor at home, please take your blood pressure just prior to the call.
Effective Tuesday, 06/01/20, laboratory services will be by appointment ONLY as ordered by the clinic physician or ARNP.

About Us
How Did It all Begin?
In 1989, the late Dr. Erwin M. Velasquez and other community leaders recognized that too many Broward County residents were not receiving the type of healthcare they needed and deserved, because they couldn’t afford the treatment or the insurance needed to cover their medical needs.
With that understanding, it became their mission to start a clinic where no one would be turned away based upon their inability to pay for proper medial treatment. Hence, the Light Of The World Clinic was founded.
Since it’s opening, with the help of hundreds of volunteer doctors, specialists and non-medical professionals, the clinic has helped more than a quarter million deserving, but unable-to-pay patients.
What Do We Do?
The clinic reaches out to residential areas where there are at-risk residents and provides them monthly, quarterly and annual community-based health screenings and quality health care services in a sensitive manner without regard to ethnic origin or ability to pay.
By providing free medical visits and services to the underserved and at-risk community, the clinic provides early medical intervention by treating them and stabilizing their hypertension, diabetes, coronary disease, obesity and other widespread diseases.
ADA Compliance
As of May 2019, LOTWC is working on a plan to become ADA Compliant.
